Caribbean Tropical Dry Forest.
The forest on Providencia Island

An ecologically responsible, socially conscious hotel

Deep Blue is blessed with a unique and privileged location on the border of the McBean Lagoon National Park. As a family business, we believe in playing our role in preserving the local environment and benefiting the community for generations to come.

Our hotel has been designed to have the minimum environmental impact on the site. We take additional measures to recycle waste where possible, and we minimize unnecessary water and electricity usage. All our cleaning products are environmentally friendly and biodegradable. We also do our part to educate the local community and visiting tourists about the importance of ecotourism and the conservation of our fragile local environment, which constitutes part of the UNESCO designated Seaflower Biosphere Reserve.

We believe in making a positive impact on the local community in Providencia, so that our visitors can contribute towards the local economy. Almost all of our hotels employees are local residents of Providencia.  We also make regular charitable donations with the aim of making a positive social contribution to the local community.

We recognise the fundamental importance of environmentally and socially responsible tourism in Colombia. Conservation fanatics may be interested to read our 300 page Environmental Management Plan, which can be requested at reception, or read our sustainability policy.
